Record-Setting Career Fair

The growth of the Ohio Northern University fall career and graduate school fair is exciting to behold. Two years ago, the 139 recruiting firms and 241 total recruiting personnel in attendance set new records. This year, Polar Careers hosted a whopping 181 companies, graduate schools, government and nonprofit organizations, and 307 individual recruiters all competing for current ONU students.

Equally impressive is to see those numbers come to life in the ONU Field House. For the first time, an ONU career fair filled the entire Field House floor. The wall-to-wall tables were the perfect metaphor for the University’s commitment to maximizing outcomes — a kind of Manifest Destiny for student placement. The third tenet of The Ohio Northern Promise is to deliver high-impact learning opportunities to students, precisely the kind of experiences that internships provide. The fourth is to continue delivering high rates of placement for graduates. Both are the focus of ONU career fairs.

Apart from sheer quantity, we like to believe that the quality of the career fair was raised this year as well, thanks to 58 ONU alumni who recruited on behalf of their firms.
