Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow – Feb. 9-13

Ohio Northern University welcomes Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow Janisse Ray, an internationally renowned writer, naturalist and activist, for an intensive weeklong visit from Feb. 9-13. Ray will conduct classes, seminars, workshops and lectures and will meet with students and faculty members informally throughout the week to share her practical knowledge in the areas of nature, community, agriculture, wildness, sustainability and the politics of wholeness.

Sebok Pharmacy Lecture – Feb. 13

Dr. Mary M. “Peggy” Piascik, BSPh ’74, immediate past president of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and ONU pharmacy graduate, will present this year’s Sebok Pharmacy Lecture. Piascik is a professor of pharmacy practice and science at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. She received her B.S. in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy.

Spotts Lecture Series – Feb. 23

Carey Smith, BSEE ’85, president of Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc. (HTSI), will be featured at this year’s Spotts Lecture. Since September 2011, Smith has led HTSI, which provides space, networks and communications, technical services and logistics support for the Department of Defense and civilian customers. She earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Ohio Northern in 1985 and a master’s degree from Syracuse.
