Record Enrollment

The start of the 2015-16 academic year saw a record number of students enrolled in the College of Engineering. The total count this year is 497; the previous high was 475 which was achieved last year.

“The college has been on a significant growth path over the past few years, including adding more than 100 students since the 2010-11 academic year,” says Dr. Eric Baumgartner, dean of the College of Engineering. Baumgartner attributes this recent growth to the college’s commitment to undergraduate engineering and computer science education, strong outcomes such as the college’s 97 percent placement rate for 2014 graduates, the college’s emphasis on high-impact experiences like design competitions and senior capstone projects, and an exceptional national reputation.

“The college looks to continue to grow in the years ahead,” says Baumgartner. “That way, we will allow more students to experience the unique and personal educational environment that is a hallmark of an Ohio Northern University education.”
