Polar Bear Nation

For the past two years, the Polar Bear Nation Regional Challenge has divided the country into seven regions to see which alumni are the most supportive of their alma mater. The Pacific Coast and the Southeast region have bragging rights after securing the highest alumni participation rate in year one and year two of the challenge. As we start year three, each region has a blank slate, and it’s anyone’s game. Your region has the chance to secure the No. 1 spot, and anyone who participates has the chance to win a special prize once the competition concludes in April!

Thanks to alumni participation, our reputation continues to thrive with excellence from year to year. In case you missed it, Ohio Northern has been ranked No. 2 among all Midwest regional colleges by U.S. News & World Report. ONU has appeared in the ranking’s top five for the past 12 years! As if that wasn’t enough great news, The Princeton Review lists ONU as one of the nation’s top schools in its annual college guide, The Best 380 Colleges: 2016 Edition. It’s a great time to be a Polar Bear, and it’s a great time to show your support.

Any gift of any size will count.  The best part – this initiative helps current students! Show your support of student aid specifically by directing your gift to the Northern Now Scholarship – a scholarship fund designed to ensure a quality ONU education for those students with financial needs. You also can choose to give to The Northern Fund, which provides unrestricted support for ONU and allows the University to put funds to use wherever the need is greatest. You can designate your Northern Fund gift to any of the University’s colleges as well.
